Week 4 [Day 13-Day 15]

[Well that sure was an eventful trial. But on the bright side it looks like there’s some justice in this world, as meager as it is.

But even with the success, something starts feeling off the moment they leave the trial. Even if you might not realize it at first, the people living in this town are starting to seem more distant than normal, although you’re still more than welcome to chat with them.

Along with that, delivery trucks are suddenly popping up all over the town. You feel like they’re watching you....but thats impossible--youve only ever seen them delivery real packages...right?

Perhaps more terrifying however, is that now the Bowling Alley and the Arcade are closed! That’s so much good entertainment… gone….

...Also, starting this week something new is happening with the ghosts. What is that? Well… just wait and see.]

You know, he has such a love/hate relationship with guns. They're beautiful in their capability for destruction, but they're unfathomably cheap in a lot of ways. The problem isn't that they're brutal, it's that they're merciful; pull a trigger, take a life, it's messy but it's simple and it diminishes the act of taking lives.

He's got such a love/hate relationsbip with guns. For now he feels neither, because he finds that he feels nothing.

[Venkman doesn't look up from the body, but he does clearly tense up at Michalis' words. Whether they were directed at him or not, he's not in the right state of mind to hear it. To hear that Kim was doomed to die. To hear that she, essentially, had it coming.]

... Man, I don't wanna fight you. [That's a lie, at least right now.] But shut up.

It was that guy with the moon mask with the silver Cadillac. Think you met him before.

[He pockets the sunglasses. No real reason to abandon them on the beach for the cops to slot away as evidence in an investigation they'll barely work on. Speaking of, it probably won't be long before the cops start to swarm the beach. Probably shouldn't hang around here much longer, or he'll get branded as a suspect for the murder. Wouldn't be the first time.

With uncommon gentleness, he shuts Kim's eyes for her and, after the parade of people coming to check out the gunshot file in and out, he leaves.

God, he needs a drink.]

[ He spots Kimberly's state and takes one glance at it before he attempts a pursuit, if that's what it could be called, that's likely much slower than what the car's travelling at. It's just to see how far he can follow those wheel tracks until they stop. ]

It's either that or we did this to her. It's as Max Headroom said - we didn't vote out the one that pulled the trigger.

So I suppose it's possible that someone saw fit to pull the trigger on her, simply because we didn't.

[The tire tracks lead down the road north, towards the edge of town. They keep going until the skid marks finally disappear. Whatever's out there, Mac Tonight clearly has better things to do.]

[It's taken a while to get there, but Michalis has finally reached the point where everything has just kind of wrapped around into something that he no longer cares about. Nothing matters anymore, and that includes everything he's done over the past three years - Maria healed his soul but this place has ensured that he can't afford to stay that way, and he hasn't felt this sort of cold oblivion since his father died.

God, he'd forgotten how good it feels.

So he's actually in a pretty good mood, for someone who's just seen a corpse; he's feeling weirdly elevated, almost manic in a dark sort of way, though he has the basic decency to hole himself up in the rec room for a little while - not to practice today, but to turn the TV on and set it so he can talk to Max.]

Max Headroom - I would like to speak to you.

[Unlike usual, it isn't a demand; it's probably the most cordially he's asked since he obtained the ability to do so.

Anyway.

After the fact he can be found in the convenience store, wandering the aisles and seeing what's there; he spends a fair amount of time looking over the cheap but nonperishable things, tilting his head at them before deciding to just fucking go for the fucking gold and make an obscene little collection out of it - he's gathering an amount that is probably not good for anyone solely due to the preservative count, but he doesn't seem to care about that. What matters is that it can be stored in his room and it'll last a long time, and that's...important to him, for a lot of reasons.

Beyond that...well. He doesn't feel like being in his room for very long despite the unholy stash of convenience store crap he's leaving in there, so he goes out to the pool area of the motel; he doesn't...actually know what the giant fucking hole in the ground is supposed to be for, but he's sitting on the edge of it regardless, jut hanging out above the deep end with Hauteclere in his lap. There's more of that weird metallic noise from after the trial as he works on sharpening and maintaining it; it's kind of a weird task, given what happened last time he saw this axe for any length of time, but at least he's focused for a little while.]

Her body is still warm and you wanna get into a debate about why you think she deserved to die.

I don't care what Max Headroom said, and I don't care why she died. I just care that she's dead. If you wanna make your arguments, tell them to someone who cares about a single word that comes outta your mouth. But I don't wanna hear it. I didn't wanna hear it with Ray. I don't wanna hear it now.

[Because if Michalis doesn't stop talking, he's going to get punched in the jaw. It's taking a significant amount of restraint on Venkman's part to not already take a swing at him, and it's only because he knows Kim would be disappointed.]

Venkman stands up, and focuses on the feeling of his nails digging into the palms of his hands. It's grounding him, at least a little.

He turns his head to look at Michalis. And turns around to punch him right in the jaw, as promised. Depending on how much physical hand-to-hand combat Michalis has dealt with before, it's probably not the hardest hit he's ever taken, but it's definitely nothing to sneeze at. Venkman may not look like he could knock down someone in a punch or two, but he definitely could.]

Well, he's definitely had worse, simply because he tried to throw down with Dragon Satan's immortal mage boyfriend once and came out on the wrong end of some serious bullshit. That said, it's been a while since someone just straight-up punched him in the face; he'll actually allow it - though he does brace for it, he doesn't try to block it, and while he takes it well enough he does have to step back once he's taken the hit.]

My, that was respectable. And fair enough, for now.
