Week 1 [Day 1-Day 3]

[After a long stressful day like this has been, maybe you want to curl up in bed and try to sleep this whole thing off, or maybe you stay up all night desperately trying to find a way out of this town. Whether it be asking the cops for help, trying to steal a car, or just simply trying to walk out of town, you will unfortunately find your attempts to escape fruitless.

Even with it being obvious something strange is going on, no one has shown their face yet to even hint that they're the ones behind it. And you have no idea if or when they will.

However, in the very least you have a whole town to explore, and at the start of each day, and the beginning of every night, no matter where you are, you'll suddenly hear a radio crackle to life. Whether this is comforting or unsettling? Well, that's up to you to decide.

Just have a good time and try not think about the letter you got earlier, okay?]

Maybe he doesn't? Could just be he runs around trying to make a living. [ she tips her glass against her lips to sip, then looks over to satan to get a good look at him in the dark. ] You and him should talk about your facial hair.

[He gives an unsure look-over at Beard, and then proceeds to commit two faux-pas at once by talking about Beard like he's not right there, while at the same time looking at him instead of Villanelle- who he's actually speaking with.] Ehh, I dunno- doesn't look like somebody that took up bearding out of choice, more like he grew it 'cause he doesn't stop to shave. Like, what do I even have in common with a guy like that? Can't very well talk about my regimen to a fella keeping it au naturel.

[ good thing villanelle doesn't care for faux-paus at all. she also squints as he explains, not understanding a lick about the world of men's facial hair. ]

And why not? You could give him some tips. Teach him how to reign it in. Share grooming tips, secrets.

Ha! Suppose you're right, I could always take that shaggy beardo under my wing if I wanted... I'll admit, though, I'm more used to training my apprentices in the ways of hand-to-hand combat than hair care, though I have dabbled some.

...but. That'll have to be for another time. I've got my own reasons to be here. [He says, and refuses to elaborate, instead electing to take another drag and puff some clouds into the ceiling.]

Smoking? You bet. [He punctuates the answer with another drag.] ...but I won't be drinking tonight. Wanna keep my head on right and see if I can find somebody again- a stranger, did me a favor here last night. ...figure he might swing back at some point and recognize me. [Although nobody's been recognizing him lately... he gets the feeling this guy might, at least. Even if it's for making a fool of himself. It's all a haze, still, but he can't imagine the exchange went well if he got too drunk to remember most of it.]

...say, uh, totally hypothetical here, but d'you know how to make up for a bad first impression? Anything that'd win someone's respect when you got off on the wrong foot?

Hm. No, not really. [ she lifts her dainty drink and sips quick before going on, spitting her stream of conscious straight out-- ] You can't erase a bad first impression from someone's mind.

Instead, you should focus on making an even bigger second impression. And a bigger third impression than that. And so on. Keep it going until the first impression just becomes a faded memory compared to the bigger stuff.

Yeah... yeah, y'might just have the right idea, there... Keep ramping up the scope of it, make them wonder what more's gonna happen 'till they burst from the anticipation of it all, wow them with so much bombast and spectacle, they forget everything that came before!
