First Investigation [Night 3]

[Having a good sleep, everyone? Hopefully it wasn't that good because around 3 AM there will be a loud explosion from outside the motel. Even those who sleep like the dead couldn't sleep through that. And if you're thinking of just pretending that you imagined it and going back to sleep, there is also a faint glow, like from a fire outside the motel.

Well that's probably not a good sign.

[Absolutely! What's going on with this, does it look like something we could obtain from the convenience store or somewhere else here?]

[It does! Perhaps the most notable thing about it is that there's also a lighter taped to the can, not unlike a makeshift flamethrower.]

[Huh... He can actually figure out how this works given that Pyro already showed him the lighter, so that's pretty clever.

Anything else noteworthy about the can?]

[The can does seem a little lighter (ha) than one right off the shelves, but that's it.]

[Makes sense. That works, he'll take this with him! Is there anything else of note around here besides poor Pyro and the fire?]

There's a frying pan in the parking lot for some reason.]

[A frying pan... Huh. Does it look like it was used as a weapon or is it just lying here?]

The fact that it's wet might be a tip off.]

[Huh. Well that's really weird?? Is it soaking wet or just a little damp?]

[Pretty dang wet.

... And if Xander were to look closely, they might realize that it's soaking wet with blood.]

[Ah, fun! Is the blood only on one side or is this frying pan just like. covered in blood. Is that what we're looking at here.]

[Mostly one side, with some dents where the blood is!]

[Yeah, that's more or less what he was expecting... Anything else to note here?]

[Besides the body and car? One thing

Near the frying pan, there's some clothing fibers.]

[Oh, that's probably important! Let's see here, what can he tell about them just by looking at them?]

[Unfortunately, not much. They've been burned beyond the point of recognition of any style of clothing and color, in fact if Xander isn't careful, the fibers will crumble in his hands.]

[Oh, well that's going to be difficult to take to trial, um... Hmm. Okay, give him a moment, he'll go obtain one of those small clear plastic bags from the convenience store to carefully stow them in. Just to be safe!

Is there anything else to find here that isn't on the body?]

[Sure thing! What's going on here, aside from it being on fire?]

[Besides the fire, one thing:

The remains of glass on the ground near the car]

[Glass, huh? Is there anything special about the shape or color? Is this also covered in blood, hopefully it isn't...]

[No blood this time! It seems rounded and smooth, like it came from a bottle of alcohol.]

[Oh, interesting! Are there enough pieces here to conceivably be from one bottle, or are we talking a lot more or less?]

[It's hard to tell, what with presumably a lot of the glass probably still being on the flaming car, but you theoretically could!]

[Excellent, that works! Anything else to note or is he free to go grab another bag for the glass?]
