First Investigation [Night 3]

[Having a good sleep, everyone? Hopefully it wasn't that good because around 3 AM there will be a loud explosion from outside the motel. Even those who sleep like the dead couldn't sleep through that. And if you're thinking of just pretending that you imagined it and going back to sleep, there is also a faint glow, like from a fire outside the motel.

Well that's probably not a good sign.

Alright, let's go check it out. Xander's going to follow the noise and the glow - what's going on over here?]

[Good news? The fire is definitely not in the hotel area so you don't have to worry about catching on fire right now?

However, it won't be hard to notice that the fire is coming from the McDonald's.

... Whether this is good or bad news depends on your opinion of McDonald's.]

[Thankfully(?) Xander doesn't have much of an opinion on the McDonald's. He didn't really explore it all that much, but he at least recognizes it! Off we go, then.

So is the whole building on fire or did someone like. set the playplace on fire, or what are we looking at here?]

[The fire seems to be coming from a car that's parked right next to the McDonald's. Or... it was a car, now it's just a pile of metal and fire.

... More worryingly however, there's someone laying on the ground in the McDonald's parking lot]

[What the hell he's literally just trying to get some sleep, and someone's blowing things up without him?

Whatever, he'll investigate, but like... leisurely. It's 3 AM, dammit. He can't do this sort of thing every night.]

Geeze, give a guy some warning before setting off fireworks.

[There's a faint glow, huh? well, he's stepping out of the motel. What's that looking like?]

[As soon as people start crowding around Pyro’s body, a receiver at a nearby phonebooth starts ringing. It won’t stop until someone picks it up.

When someone finally picks it up, there will be a serious, threatening voice on the other end.]

Someone must be held responsible for this. You will gather as much information as you need, and then you will all head to the motel laundry room for further instructions.

Failure to comply will result in swift punishment.

[Well, he's already here, might as well take a look around. Xander's definitely not good at dealing with bodies, so he'll leave that to someone else, but surely there's something else to find here.

So he'll check the area around Pyro - aside from the car on fire, is there anything else to see around here?]

Let's start with the immediately wrong. Can she determine a cause of death, at a glance? ]

[The fact that their mask is heavily misshapen and wet with blood. might be a good hint as to how they died.]

[... Christ. Sure, Venkman was kinda scared of Pyro, and was entirely certain they'd kill him at some point, but that doesn't mean he wanted to see them die.

Honestly, he didn't even think they could die in a traditional sense. Venkman still hadn't entirely counted out the possibility of them being a demon. Or a ghost. Or some sort of old god.

The point is, he hates this and he doesn't spend a lot of time loitering around the corpse before he starts to walk back down the road towards the motel from the McDonald's.

Anything gonna catch his eye?]

Do they look like the ones he saw in Pyro's room earlier in the week? And is there anything particularly notable about them, aside from the fact that they're all chilling in the road?]
