That no matter how close a relationship may become, we can never know anyone else as intimately as we know ourselves.

Ultimately, we are all entirely alone, unable to truly understand anything beyond our deeply limited perspectives.

It's pointless even pretending any of us, alive or dead, are people deserving or capable of love.

Well, to hell with that.

We can always put in the effort.

Hard to have a good day in Florida.

Last I heard about the Florida where I come from, it left the United States and some kinda psychic is running it.

Look, this might be a big ask of a barfly, but what in the hell are the United States and what's a Florida got to do with it. ...and how do you figure this place is Florida, anyhow.

Well, in my experience? This is the kind of place you just do your best to survive in until you get your shot at leaving. Least we're not talking about getting out of New York, here.

There's some places like that where I'm from too. ...honestly, Satan City's got more than its fair share of danger to it- just this week-...[He stops for a moment, remembering how long they've all been here.] ...well, the week before I got taken here- my daughter had to take out a gang holding the mayor at gunpoint. [He sighs and lets another cloud of smoke billow out from his lips.]

No kidding. I've got a feeling they'd've been better off not changing the name to that to begin with. [...especially considering why they changed it, but... that's neither here nor there.]

New York, New York... that some kinda... town, village, city? ...island, maybe? [States and countries evidently don't seem to exist in Dragon Ball's Earth, so he doesn't guess at those.] That part of Florida, too? What's so bad about it.

Used to be a city, now they made the whole thing a prison. Bad things can happen to a country when the leadership fucks up enough, especially when that's how they double down on the people.

Yikes, that's a bad situation to be part of.

...especially if you've got a guy so desperate for power he's resorting to ruling over the country. Hell, the only country kings I've heard of is like... scary powerful guys living out in the boonies who call themselves king of whatever desert or mountain range they're living in, don't have any real authority, they just act like they run the place 'cause they're strong. [Despite saying all that, he punctuates it with.] You've got one rough deal where you're from.
