Week 2 [Day 5 - Day 7]

[Well, that sure was a time.
When everyone wakes up this morning, one of the first things they're realize that the Mcdonald's suddenly looks abandoned. And not just from the fire, but it looks like it hasn't been open in years. The whole building looks like it could fall apart at any moment, and the entire Playplace is covered in rust.
Even the Ronald McDonald statue! D-:
However, if you ask any of the residents about the McDonald's, they still act as though is still open, and you'll most likely get some weird looks when you ask any questions about it that doesn't involve the weirdness of McPizza.
And, for those who have been here before, starting this week, you'll get a strange overwhelming sense that this place is familiar to you. You can't place how or why, but the sense of deja vu is persistent, and will stick with you for a long while. It's undeniable--you've definitely been here before, but you can't recall....
But hey, that's probably fine, right?]
[ Day 5 (Sunday) || Night 5 (Monday) || Day 6 (Tuesday) || Night 6 (Wednesday) || Day 7 (Thursday) ]
(OOC: On Sunday we will be tagging two volunteers with a special thing, which will make sense on Monday! If you want to opt in or out, please contact us, either in the toplevel itself or via messaging us!
Again, if you plan on investigating anywhere in the town or want to talk to an NPC, please put it in your toplevel! And also don't forget to fill your AC!!!)

...Testament. [ He'll cross his arms. ] Who may I be speaking with, and what made you decide to do all of...this?

...the long and short of it's that... I've been spending most my life, too caught up in myself. And... yesterday- well, that... It put a lot in perspective. Got me to realize... how bad it was. A-and, to think on how I could try moving past it.
E-enough about me, though- how about you? ...you, uh... you look like a pretty interesting guy! [It's a bold fashion statement, anyway- reminds him a bit of some bands he'd seen back in the day.]
no subject
...I'm not sure if there's much to say about me. [ First time someone's asked as much of him. Wanting to know about him. He's actually at a loss of words, though his expression doesn't easily show it... ] I have a place to be, and without my presence, it's left void of anyone capable to stand as it's vanguard.
[ Socializing is such an awkward thing for him. ]

it's a good thing this guy's never made Any conversation more awkward. /s]Vanguard? ...s-so, were you part of the military where you're from? [Considering the way his own world's army was practically ineffective cannon fodder for whatever new kind of monstrous evil threatened the planet at the time, his immediate thought is wondering whether Testament might have a better chance at surviving here than back home.] Is... was there still an active threat going on, before you got taken here?
no subject
Well, that's a funny thought, really. ]
...A long time ago, but no more. But there's still a place worth protecting even so.
Normally, I'd be inclined to say no, however there's always some sort of active threat in the world I've been. It changes from time to time, so it wouldn't do to believe there's no reason to lower my guard at any point.
[ Honestly it's just an extravagant excuse for living a life mostly of seclusion but shh. ]

[He scratches the back of his neck, agitated by the thought.]
Just goes to show how phony the whole "we're no scumbags, we're just doing this to teach y'all a lesson and make you better people" act is. They really cared about us playing a better role in the world, they'd keep their hands off everybody protecting people where they're from.
no subject
[ That is honestly so relatable, but Testament supposes Earth is just a giant magnet for trouble.
There's a small pause at that though. The other man is exactly right, and it's been such a long time since a situation has incurred his ire. But the reminder brings it back. ]
...Those fools ought to look in the mirror when they're proclaiming such things, and it's absolutely pitiful that they're using that as an excuse to justify what they're doing. They may as well just drop the pretense already.
no subject
But that just goes to show the masterminds behind this whole thing, they must be some severe cowards or something- waste all their time getting some stuttery algorithm to judge us, 'stead of facing us themselves... we're the sinners here, aren't we? Why're they the ones hiding their identity from us?
no subject
[ At hearing that, his expression briefly turns disdainful. The true nature of evil seems to usually have it's roots in cowardice - if these people end up human, Testament can't say he'll be surprised. ]
That's right...let us remember:
Only the guilty have something to hide.
no subject
Y-yeah... that's true enough...
[...]
...maybe we're being held by some public figure with an image to keep up? They don't wanna dirty it by letting the people know about their participation, in all this. ...more worried about their own reputation than letting us live.
no subject
He's doing well at being quiet and rational, but that's only because he can't use his scythe and magic to voice how disagreeable he feels about this entire thing. C'est la vie. ]
Hmph. It does sound as if it fits a politician's modus operandi. Or any other public figure, I suppose.
However, just considering that being the case is disgusting enough.
